| THE ROLE OF THE PARENT Parents are the most important link in the process of learning. They are the first and most influential people in the line of teachers and educators their children will encounter throughout their lives. They therefore deserve to have the best tools to be able to facilitate the child's musical growth. Parent Education Training is given to every parent. (how we start) This is a valuable time of creating a bond of trust between parents and teacher. Parents learn about the Suzuki philosophy,parent-child relationships, Natural Learning,importance of listening, the development stages of children, basic piano skills & music reading. ALL CHILDREN HAVE TALENT All children learn to speak their mother tongue by listening and imitating their mother's voice. The same process is used to teach music. The environment determines the success(or failure) of the child. Children are immersed with music ;they listen to top quality recordings and develop sensitivity, familiarity to the music they learn and love of music. THE APPLICATION Learning begins at an early age. Each new skill is broken into small steps. Each step is mastered before a new step is introduced. The rate of progress is dictated by the child. No drop outs. Success yields success. The child learns and grows through genuine praise and continuous support. REVIEW & FOCUS Parents and children focus on how they play rather than what they play. Review is fundamental . Just as children retain their vocabulary in a spoken language and gradually bring it to a level of unconscious competence, so do they maintain their musical vocabulary (repertoire).
